In 1999, Jin Hyeok Park started his career in the business events industry with Korea’s largest PCO. He planned and hosted various corporate meetings and association meetings, such as the World Knowledge Forum. In the association meetings field, he was the first to apply a web-based online registration and paper accepting system in Korea.

In 2008, Park joined the Seoul Tourism Organization’s Seoul Convention Bureau and has since been managing projects for MICE bidding and hosting support. He established a data based bidding management system(e-CRM), Seoul MICE Supporters to develop future talent and provide more convenience to meeting organizers, a bidding presentation clinic with an 80% success rate – and other diverse ideas to strengthen Seoul’s destination marketing.

Through these efforts, Seoul became selected as “Best International Business Meetings Destination” by Business Traveler from 2012 to 2017 for six consecutive years and “Best MICE City” by Global Traveler readers from 2015 to 2018 for four consecutive years.

Seoul, which was ranked 9th globally by UIA for hosting 121 meetings when the Seoul Tourism Organization was first established, hosted 688 meetings in 2018 and has ranked 3rd among global cities for three consecutive years. The city comes in 10th in the ICCA rankings with 142 meetings held.
